Te Whau restaurant stunner

Te Whau prawns with sweet corn

Te Whau Restaurant, located on the top level of Te Whau Winery on Waiheke Island, is an ideal place to enjoy all the great things about Waiheke: stunning views, friendly people, world class Waiheke wines and brilliant food. Chef Marco Edwardes is on top of his game sending out impressive seasonal dishes. A starter featuring barbecued plump Australian prawns with a creamy sweet corn purée, coriander & lime salsa and a spiced prawn bisque, was exceptional. The oysters are local, the snapper is line-caught and Waiheke olive oil is on the table.

Hours have been extended for summer. Te Whau is open 7 days for lunch through to the end of January and for dinner Thursday through to Saturday. If time is tight during your visit to the island, and time to enjoy a lunch or dinner at Te Whau is not possible, you can still call in for a short visit and try a snifter or two of Te Whau wines while enjoying the views of the Hauraki Gulf, Rangitoto Island and the Auckland isthmus. It’s hard to beat.
