Come cook with us on Waiheke

Cooking Classes on Waiheke Island

Flavours of Spring & Summer

Come and cook with us on Waiheke. In just a few weeks we will be in the middle of spring and the breath of summer will be upon us! It’s time, then, to make the most of spring vegetables like asparagus, broad beans, baby beetroot, and hopefully, artichokes, and to enjoy strawberries while they are at their peak. Come over and enjoy a day eating, drinking and getting inspired. It’s great fun! You could spend the morning shopping, visiting art galleries, enjoying great coffee at some of the island’s hidden gems, or enjoying a wine tasting at one of the award winning vineyards, then come along to the cooking class at 1.00pm. It doubles as lunch! You could finish the day with a glass of bubbles at The Oyster Inn in Oneroa, looking over the sparkling harbour. It’ll be a day to remember, and you’ll not want to leave.

Currently, there are 2 spaces available on:

28th  October

1.00pm – 4.00pm approx.

$125.00 per person

Class Content – Flavours of Spring and Summer

This class will focus on the season’s best, and as barbecue season is underway, there’ll be some great ideas to help with stress-free entertaining. I’ll cover off 3 dips, including Beetroot and Walnut and Broad Bean & Harissa, and 3 salsas, including Smoky Tomato Salsa, and also Pickled Cucumber Relish – all of these will stand you in good stead for summer entertaining as they are quick to whip up, are packed with flavour and, in the case of the salsas, have many uses adding a kick of flavour to grilled meats, fish or vegetables.

For mains, there will be a simply gorgeous dish, Grilled Asparagus with Pan-fried Chicken Breasts with Verjuice and Hazelnut Dressing (vegetarian option available), and also Coconut Fish Cakes with a Cambodian Dressing. Talk about traversing the globe!

We’ll finish with fluffy ricotta pancakes with a strawberry and lychee salad. As usual, there will be some great Waiheke wines to enjoy, and local Ringawera breads, and the award-winning 2016 Rangihoua Estate extra virgin olive oil to try.

If you’ve been thinking about coming along to a Shared Kitchen class why not grab a couple of friends and come to Waiheke for the day and enjoy a cooking class, wine tasting and a look around Oneroa’s shops and galleries. But get in early as spring classes are the most popular of the year. It would seem that everyone wants to smarten up their repertoire and get ideas for summer and, dare I mention it, Christmas.

$125 per person

PS if the dates don’t suit, we also offer private classes for small groups of up to 8.

  1. Hi Julie. SOrry I missed your talk at W3 but I have just arrived on the island until after Christmas. I would love to be included in a cooking class. Let me know the schedule. I see the last scheduled is on the 28th. Are the classes in Rocky Bay Area?

    Looking forward to meeting you.
