Waiheke Island Garden Safari

Garden Safari

Yep, it’s true, this is one of the best ways to get a sneak peek at some of the hidden treasures on Waiheke Island. For just a few bucks you’ll be able to visit at leisure a good handful of gardens (12), all the while your money going towards the Jassy Dean Trust, a children’s charity. It’s the one time in your life you can feel good about being nosey! It runs over two days, 12th and 13th November, and it’s a self-drive event, so team up with friends and bring your car over on the ferry, or hire a vehicle on Waiheke, but do it soon as this is a very popular event.

And there’s heaps of other events taking place over the weekend. There’s the preview event on Friday night (tickets available from Paper Plus in Oneroa); Casita Miro are offering a special Garden Lover’s Fiesta Menu; Xanthe White is hosting a lung at Batch Winery; and there’s the annual massive plant sale at Ranghioua Olive Estate to name a few. I’ll be stationed at Rangi with a market stall selling preserves and yummy cakes and snacks, so swing by and say Hi!
