New round of classes for March

March is the perfect time for a sojourn to Waiheke because the weather is still beautifully warm but it is more settled than in January and February. There are fewer tourists, too!

Here are the new classes for March – you can choose to come on a Saturday or a Sunday, whichever is more convenient, and perhaps tie in a class with an overnighter on the island.

Both classes are bursting with fresh and exotic flavours, and as always, there will be loads of culinary tips shared throughout, and tastings of local products. You will take away a great set of recipes to put into action in your own kitchen enabling you to knock the socks off your friends. Great stuff!

Remember, if these classes don’t suit because of the date, time or topic, then let me know what you would like and when you would like it. I’ll try and accommodate your wishes.

Saffron to Sumac

Exotic tastes of the Middle East including spices such as saffron, cardamom, cumin, coriander and sumac; smoky freekeh and burghul salads, dates and dried fruits and nuts. Think fresh walnut and pomegranate dip, North African honeyed eggplant, cardamom and pine nut pilaf, orange and date salad with orange flower water and cinnamon, homemade labna and dukkah and much more.

Saturday 11th March OR Sunday 12th March 1.00-4.00pm

Mediterranean Harvest

On this class we’ll cover my favourite dishes with tomatoes, eggplants and peppers, plus herbs, garlic, olives and capers, nuts, seeds and grains. The recipes will take us to Italy, the south of France, coastal Spain, the Greek islands, Turkey and Cyprus and North Africa.

Saturday 25th March OR Sunday 26th March 1.00-4.00pm

All classes $125.00 pp. Bookings essential. Email Julie@shared kitchen.co.nz for more details.
