Song & Poetry Thing kicks off for 2018
Yes, the famous Waiheke Song & Poetry Thing kicks off for 2018 this Friday, 23rd February, at our new venue SOLAR (139 Oceanview Road, Oneroa). It’s just a quick schlep up the road from the ferry, or a one stage ticket on the bus, so all of you poets and musicians who live in New Zealand (across the waters, that is, in Auckland), can easily come over, join in, then catch the ferry back to the city. You’ll get a decent wholesome dinner at Solar, too.
We’re excited to have a new venue! And will mostly be in the funky area out the back where we can perform without interruptions.
The night has also changed to the last FRIDAY of each month (formerly held on the last Thursday of each month). Otherwise, it’s the same deal: sign up to perform at 6.30pm, with performances starting at 7.00. We usually wrap up by around 9.00pm.
Got a poem hidden away somewhere that you’d like to share? You won’t find a warmer, more encouraging group than the poets of Waiheke.
