Hi Julie Just wanted to say how much I enjoy reading Shared Kitchen and often I’m inspired to try your suggestions. I’m sure our meals are much more interesting now than before lockdown as I have to plan ahead and create dinner out of what we have rather than what we would like. It’s working – thanks to people like you who are always there to share info and cheer us up. Happy Easter! Jill

Thank you so much for your wonderful recipes, ideas which enable me to do something simple and delicious with what I usually have on hand, definitely pear and pistachio salad tonight. Beautiful fresh wonderful food. Thank you again,  Best wishes Valda

Good morning Julie What a great recipe. I made it on Saturday evening. What a wonderful collection of flavours. I forgot to buy shallots so used a red onion. We’ll be creating this again soon !! Regards, John

Julie! The recipe is amazing – I made it last night on a cold, dark evening, on a bed of cauliflower rice (and subbing the butter for coconut oil). What an absolute delight – so incredibly easy to make but such flavour and deliciousness!! Thanks so much ❤

Hi Julie I really enjoy your recipes and photos. Hope you are keeping well. We met quite some time ago when you cooked for me at Books for Cooks in Notting Hill. That was a wonderful day and I have loved your food ever since in the recipes I use from your books. Your books are great and the recipes are always reliable. Stay well and keep creating for us.

Love your words — my feelings are similar – and recipes of course.Thank you for your contributions

I am looking forward to trying your pot roasted chicken with mustard and bay. Love the Shared Kitchen! Thanks Sheridan

Many thanks Julia and Ilaria, I have sent this to my daughter-in-law – just the sort of recipes the grandchildren might eat, especially if they have done it themselves! Keep safe and many thanks for all the recipes. Jenni

Dear Julie, How are you? I made your delicious butterflied leg of lamb with caper salsa last night for an April Foolishness dinner for my fellow ‘bubbler’. Thanks for such deliciousness. My ‘bubbler’ was impressed! Lesley

Kia ora JulieThank you for these inspirational ideas!  I found a couple of cans of creamed sweetcorn at the back of the pantry too.  That might be a direction for you to give us some ideas? Hope you are well and safe Nga mihi Briar

Hi Julie, great shopping advice. Hadn’t thought about the unnecessary trolly. And the bag transfer at home. Keep it coming. Stay safe. Virtual hugs. Grant XX

Julie, just wanted to thank you for your humour and continuing to “carry on”. My husband and I returned to the States Friday night. While not sure we wanted to come back, seemed like the right things to do, and having made that decision, are incredibly glad we got out when we did. Sounds like it’s gotten harder. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay in your bubble, and stay in touch. Michele

PS – the best way ever for cooking potatoes is in here Sonya

Julie – now that I know you answer emails…. I have more questions!I have hunted for ages (years) to get Aussie prawns – or even NZ ones – where do do you buy them??More than happy to order and have delivered if I can freeze them on arrival. Everywhere I look they are Thai, or other unmentionable places – I REFUSE to buy them! Would love to know. Lived in Aussie for awhile – nothing like an Aussie prawn! So agree with your blog on crap/crunch – I have a few health issues and cook nearly everything from scratch – I know what I’m eating!!I get so invigorated on a Wednesday after your email arrives!cheersBronwyn

Your jacket-baked potatoes … Did them tonight. Glad l did a few extra – I hosted my lovely neighbours and their two hungry teenagers. They said it was best meal I had done. I did one of your cakes for dessert. You have helped an old lady to hold her end up in our weekly meal ritual. Thanks so much.Margaret

Kia ora Julie,Thanks so much for emailing: I’ll subscribe to your newsletter.Without your recipes in the 80s I would have been quite lost – made your apple crumble many times then, and still making the chicken/camembert pie!Paula x
