
Earthy, sweet and fragrant, with a slightly bitter nip from cardamom, this drink is addictive.
Ingredients
—1 Tbsp peeled and grated fresh turmeric or 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 cup organic unsweetened almond milk, chilled 1 Tbsp authentic maple syrup (or use honey) Pinch ground cardamom Lemon or lime wedge
Method
—This recipe is for almond milk with turmeric but you could make it with other milks.
1 Make a paste with the turmeric and a little water.
2 Whip almond milk, maple syrup, cardamom and turmeric paste together until fluffy. Pour into a glass and serve. Freshen it with a spritz of lemon or lime if liked.
Recipe Notes
There are plenty of reasons to try this drink (no, not just because it is yellow!). It’s great chilled, but you could serve it hot, and add a touch of ginger if you are an anti-inflammatory kick. Try it with other milks too, until you get the combo you love.
Use fresh turmeric by all means, but be careful not to get it everywhere as it stains.
