At the heart of Julie’s website Shared Kitchen is a desire to encourage everyone to keep on cooking from scratch. This has two purposes, explains Julie, “First of all, if you are in charge of your food, you will know what goes into it. When you hand this over to a multi-national food producer you have no idea what you are eating. To stay well, you must eat well. You must know what is in the food you are eating.

“Then there is the rewarding feeling knowing that you are looking after your health and that of your loved ones. This may sound difficult to achieve, because we often finish our days stressed, too tired to think of cooking a meal, and so fall back on the easy option of ready-prepared food. I’ll show you how to build a repertoire of family favourites that are time-savers, inexpensive and delicious, the sort of dishes that everyone will love you for. And that’s another plus – the hugs you get for making scrumptious food,” she says.

“When you cook from scratch, it is most likely healthier than ready-made food, so you are off to a good start. You need to arm yourself with a few basic rules, and we’ll teach you these, and show you how easy it is to incorporate them into your daily life. You won’t look back! You’ll save money, too – we’ve got plenty of tricks to show you how.

All of this will help you achieve a better balance with your work and home life, help you achieve small successes that create moments of joy, and help produce a Happier, Healthier More Productive You.
