Greek Islands on tour

Greek salad
I have exciting news and I wanted to share it with you: I am hosting an exclusive trip to the Greek Islands in June next year. Picture idyllic whitewashed buildings set against sparkling crystal clear seas, bustling markets, ancient ruins, the cutest alleyways and tiny streets to explore, and, of course, fabulous food and wine to enjoy as we island hop our way around the Greek islands. See all the deets below, or, if you can’t wait, go straight through to The Greek Islands with Julie Biuso

I’ve loved Greece and the Greek Islands since I first visited over forty years ago.
Each time I return, I fall in love all over again. How can anyone not love the sparkling, crystal-clear seas, the welcoming locals, the traditional whitewashed buildings accented with deep blue and adorned with scarlet bougainvillea, the hustle and bustle of markets, the delicious fresh food and interesting wines, and the little stone-paved alleys that beg to be explored?
The tour, run by experienced New Zealand travel operators Peter and Marion Cox from Travel Encounters, runs from 2nd June to 19th June 2026. We’re off in a few weeks to set it all up to ensure we offer you the tastiest travel ever in June next year. You can source all the information here The Greek Islands with Julie Biuso, and read more below.

Come with me to the Greek Islands

A delicious tempter
The Greek kitchen is renowned for more than salads and dolmades, although we will taste the finest examples of these dishes, along with simply cooked seafood and superb vegetable dishes. We’ll taste olives and oils, Citron and honey, cheeses and wines, and enjoy excellent coffee and sweet treats wherever we go.There’ll be time to take in the historic sights in Athens, and a private wine tour to Nemea in the Peloponnese, then we go island-hopping to Paros, Naxos, Crete, Santorini and Mykonos. and spend our days enjoying long lunches, cooking classes with locals and wine tastings, and visiting ancient ruins and markets. We also attend a basket-weaving class and a potter’s workshop– how cool is that!

Fabulous Filo
We’ll learn how to make filo by hand – it is so superior to commercially made filo. And, we’ll make pita pockets – warm and puffy, these were the best pita breads I’ve ever eaten. All in the hands of expert Greek cooks. There is plenty to learn, watch and enjoy.

Five nights in fabulous Crete
I’m delighted to include the island of Crete in our tour – it’s one of my favourite places in all of Europe. We’ve been invited to join a wonderful Cretan family in a small village to enjoy the spoils of their hard work – olive oil, wine and honey will flow, as well as singing! Here is where I ate the best dolmades of my life.
