Waiheke delivered!
The rain for Friday was forecast to be torrential; not a drop fell. The wind and rain for Saturday was forecast to be gusty and showery; not a leaf rustled in the mildest of breezes in the inner sanctum of the Sacred Blessing Gardens, and not a drop of rain fell. The weather for Sunday was forecast to be overcast, windy and showery; you guessed it, the sun shone!
Thank you weather gods for helping make the Waiheke Garden Festival a success and thank you to the gazillion of volunteers, especially those who helped at the Garden Party on Sunday, ferrying the platters of canapés downstairs and through the milling crowds. Yes, guests stopped and smelled the roses! All was beautiful, pristine and peaceful, with everyone frocked up in their party dresses. Thanks to my assistants Ilaria Biuso and Charlotte Cohen (and Kev!). Awesome event. Waiheke Garden Festival 2017 Garden Party
*The guests had a great day spent in gorgeous gardens blooming with dahlias, roses, sweet peas, snapdragons, pansies … you name it, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly, too, so much so, that if you are looking for someone to cater a special event on Waiheke (possibly Auckland), give Shared Kitchen a call. Well, send an email, as you do. (Phoning seems so last century!) [email protected]
*Just a quick thanks to Waiheke suppliers Raw, for top-notch produce, and Gulf Foods for exemplary service which helped make the food easy to put together.
