Here’s a great brunch munch – bulk it out with poached eggs, baked tomatoes, roasted fennel, that sort of thing.

What’s with this eggs and avo thing? Just try it.

Soft fluffy buttermilk pancakes will have them coming back for more.

Mix it up baby! Nuts, seeds, oats and dried fruit any which way you fancy.

Top the muesli with a little more yoghurt and sliced Brazil nuts, or a handful of homemade muesli and fresh fruit.

Nip Nip Nip …yep forest floor activity all around, mushrooms popping up, time to grab some!

Whoa, steady on! This is rich, as in old-fashioned Frenchified rich, dripping with cream.

Sweetness and spice, baking and butter, Chelsea Buns have everything going for them.

When I say ‘best-ever’, I mean BEST EVER poached plums. Oh yeah!

Ilaria’s magic balls! Fluffy golden brown, dissolve in your mouth = gotta have!

Oh, the speed. And the taste! These eggs will take your breath away.

Light-as-air hot cakes. Serve ’em up and watch them go!

Add a savoury note with a few flecks of thyme – it makes a difference!

For an over-the-top version, serve with bacon and tomatoes, and dust the hot egg with flakes of fresh parmesan. Bliss.

Whoa! What a Mamma of a brunch: salt, crunch, carbs, smoke, mouth-feel and tang: Hot-smoked salmon, sorrel, poached eggs & pancetta socks it to them!

I can never work out whether celebrating the last day of the year is more fun than celebrating the first day of a new year – it generally depends on what ungodly hour my head hits the pillow after seeing in the new year. But once I’m up and pottering, tea and toast won’t cut it – I’m after the full monty combo of carbs, fat, salt and chilli. It’s the best way to clear the cobwebs I reckon.

Serve olives to nibble while preparing, good bread to serve alongside and a glass or two of the doctor’s medicine (Rioja) to wash it down. It’s like bringing Spain to your place.
