Cooking classes on Waiheke Island

Baked fish with aromatics on avocado

Come and cook with us on Waiheke!

These summer and festive cooking classes on Waiheke Island will arm you with plenty of really useful recipes to set you up for the summer months ahead. The theme for all classes is SEASONAL, EASY, DELICIOUS food that you will want to cook again and again. I don’t waste time with aspirational dishes that you might make ‘one day’, but concentrate, instead, on dishes that you will want to cook immediately. PRACTICAL, USEFUL, HEALTHY food, with some treats thrown in. There’ll be plenty of things to taste – we’ve recently featured the new Lewis Road Creamery Strawberry Ice Cream and their new breads and sea salt butter; the full range of Rangihoua Gold medal winning oils, including the supreme winner, 2016 Waiheke Blend (Los Angeles International EVVO Competition); Casita Miro’s beguiling Manzanilla Sherry and Ximénez-Spinola sherry vinegar; and INES ROSALES Tortas de Aceite ((Spanish sweet olive oil biscuits), to mention just a few items. In the last few classes we’ve also enjoyed the latest releases from SOHO wines (many of the grapes are grown on Waiheke), and reds from Te Whau Winery, and locally grown edible flowers and local honeys, sausages and breads. The famed Te Matuku oysters feature regularly. There is always something new to share and taste, and we’re quick to include seasonal produce as soon as it appears.

Waiheke is such a magical place to visit (it’s a pretty amazing place to live, too). You could spend the morning shopping, visiting art galleries, enjoying great coffee at some of the island’s hidden gems, or enjoying a wine tasting at one of the award winning vineyards, then come along to the cooking class at 1.00pm. It doubles as lunch! You could finish the day with a glass of bubbles at The Oyster Inn in Oneroa, looking over the sparkling harbour. It’ll be a day to remember, and you’ll not want to leave.

Come over and enjoy a day eating, drinking and getting inspired. It’s great fun!

The classes run from 1.00pm – 4.00pm approx.

Cost $125.00 per person, payable on line
