Her knowledge is vast and she happily shares it with you, telling you about life on Waiheke and in New Zealand as she goes.
Julie is the author of 16 cookbooks, most of which have won awards, including two wins in the Lifestyle section in New Zealand’s top literary awards, and near a dozen other awards in the International Gourmand Awards. She has been a food editor across a handful of top magazines for a period spanning 33 years, and continues her career as a broadcaster, appearing regularly on radio and television.
Julie originally trained at Le Cordon Bleu Institute in London, then became a teacher there, and is now an Ambassador for the New Zealand Le Cordon Bleu Institute.
She also manages the award-winning website Shared Kitchen http://sharedkitchen.co.nz with her daughter Ilaria.
Her career has seen her cook for New Zealand Prime Ministers, industry leaders and many people of note in New Zealand and overseas, including the great late Maestro Luciano Pavarotti. Julie cooked for the Maestro on both his visits to New Zealand.
