L’affogato al caffé – coffee & ice cream in a cup!

L’affogato – oh yes, this is to die for! Piping hot espresso coffee poured over vanilla ice cream (or hokey pokey!) melts the ice cream to a rich, thick sweet cream, making an amazing contrast with the bitter bite of hot coffee.L'affogato 1

Put as much ice cream as you dare in small bowls or espresso coffee cups. Pour piping hot coffee over the ice cream, then serve pronto with spoons.

L’affogato makes an easy post barbecue dessert. Don’t imbibe coffee after midday? Then make it with decaf. Just do it!L'affogato 2
