Kai Feast is Christall Lowe’s second cookbook.

Second helpings sometimes lack a soupçon of depth, put out too quickly by authors encouraged to turn around another hot seller quickly. Good recipes take time to curate. The best are brewed over the years, served up time and time again to family and friends, with substitutions made and tweaks given, becoming imbued with occasion and memories.

Kai Feast is all of that, a rich tome of delicious recipes incorporating ingredients gathered from the mountains down to the sea, made with care and love and shared with whanau.

It’s what you might expect from an author who is behind the concept and design of the book and who not only created all the recipes but also took all the luscious food photography. It’s a medium-large format book, has 320 pages and has a hard cover and ribbon for marking your spot.
