Get roasting this Sunday
It’s not that we need an excuse to fire up the oven and cook a roast in our household, but sometimes having a reason to do so makes it more of an occasion. This Sunday, August 2nd, is Selak’s New Zealand Roast Day and we’ll gather together with the family to enjoy a hearty roast dinner, pulling out all the stops. I think many others around the country will also be doing just that.
What to cook? Beef, lamb, pork, chicken? Venison? An all-vegetable roast? Or something a bit more exotic like quail, duck or pigeon? Mmmm. Still, there’s several days to go before settling on the dishes. Here are some of my favourite ones from Shared Kitchen which would all suit the occasion.
I’d start off with Persimmon & Feta Salad
It’s light, fresh, so pretty and looks much harder than it really is.
