If you are a gardener, keep eggshells, crunch them up and sprinkle on top of the soil to deter slugs (they can’t slide over them!). I rinse then stack them in a corner of the garden until I have enough to do something with. They eventually break down into the soil which is no bad thing.
You can get all fancy and give the potatoes a quick toss in the pan, and with a bit of luck they’ll all end up back in the pan. Otherwise, follow the 2-second rule, or whistle in the dog.
